It is said that a person touches their cell phone on average 2,617 times every day. The top 10% of users can touch their phones more than 5,400 times a day. With emails, private messages, and even banking now done on cell phones, being hacked is a bigger concern than ever. What then, are signs that your phone may have been hacked? Lets take a look.

Background Noise

Say that you are listening to your favorite podcast or playing a music station on Pandora. All of a sudden, you hear static or echoes, or clicking sounds. Background noises can be an indicator that your phone has been hacked.

Battery isn’t Lasting as Long

Although it could be a sign that your battery needs to be replaced, a fast draining battery could also be a sign that your phone has been hacked. It could be that you accidentally downloaded malaware, and that something is running in the background from the apps you’re running.

Increase in Data Usage

The most noticeable sign can be an increase in data usage. Most phone plans have a set amount of monthly data, with alerts that can be set to alert you at a certain usage limit. If the usage seems to have increased than you normally use, this is a sign that someone else might be using your phone data.

Strange Activity

Your phone all of a sudden lighting up on its own, shutting down, powering up, or installing a program that you have not downloaded can all be signs that your phone has been hacked and someone else is controlling your device.
